Kent State University's Porthouse Theatre, which is an outdoor amphitheater on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, is opening their 55th season next Friday, June 9th, and will feature great live entertainment for the whole family. Executive producer, Tony Hardin, joined Jeanne Destro to talk about the upcoming season and shows coming soon!

Blossom Music Center, Jilly's Music Room, Musica, and the Kent Stage are just a few of several Northeast Ohio music venues that will begin requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter.

That joint announcement coming Wednesday amid increasing COVID-19 cases across the region, the state, and the country, and growing concern over the highly contagious Delta variant.

Different venues have different dates for when the requirement will go into effect, and additionally, individual acts may require proof of vaccination or the negative test prior to that particular venue's enforcement of the new rule.

Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls is the largest venue on the list and will require all guests to show proof starting October 4th.

Per a Live Nation announcement Wednesday, the group said, "Vaccines are going to be your ticket back to shows."

Cities both large and small have been affected in some or many ways due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But how have those medium-sized towns, the large suburbs, handled matters?

Cuyahoga Falls mayor Don Walters called into the Ray Horner Morning Show to give an update on his city, which is the second-largest in Summit County by size and population. On the plus side, Walters says retail sales have grown since the reopening phases in May, and construction and resurfacing projects are on schedule. However, a big hit to his town was the canceling of events at Blossom Music Center, which have traditionally been a boon for the north end of the area.

Blossom has pushed their concerts and events to 2021, with most performances close to the original date from 2020.

Social Media Helps Catch Blossom Suspect

A photo taken at the Korn - Alice In Chains Concert at Blossom on Friday and shared on social media by the Summit County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of Ryan Bollas, 44, of Northfield Center Township.

The Sheriff's Office is reporting a 19-year-old woman reported a sexual assault that happened Friday during that concert, but couldn't name the suspect.

She did snap his photo, though (see picture).

A few days, on Tuesday, August 20th, and more than 3,500 shares on Facebook later, Bollas turned himself in.

He's been charged with Sexual Imposition.
