The Summit County Sheriff's Office is looking for Adam Richardson, 37, in connection to an assault that led to a crash along State Route 224 in Coventry Township. 

According to the report, on Sunday, May 22nd, at about 9:30 a.m., Richardson was riding in the front passenger seat of a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old woman. The two got into an verbal argument during which Richardson allegedly threatened the female driver, saying, "I will kill us both." 

Just after that, Richardson grabbed the wheel, causing the vehicle to crash into a concrete barrier. 

The Summit County Sheriff's Office Patrol units, Detective Bureau, and Major Crime Scene Unit all responded to the scene of the crash at 224 and I-77 in Coventry. There, Richardson was charged with Felonious Assault and Criminal Damaging. He also had a Burglary warrant out of Akron. 

After being charged, Richardson was reportedly treated by EMS, but he hasn't been seen since. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Summit County Sheriff's Office. 

The victim was also treated for minor injuries and released.

Bath Man Arrested After Bar Fight

Early Sunday morning the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to Pick's Bar in Coventry Township. 

Shortly after deputies arrived around 1:30 a.m., they arrested 34-year-old Cody Butzer of Bath Township. 

According to the Sheriff's report, Butzer punched two men, leaving one with several broken bones in his face and the other with lacerations. They were both taken to Akron General Hospital and treated. 

Butzer was charged with Felonious Assault and Assault. He was booked in Summit County Jail.

Woman Assaulted Dental Worker, Trashed Office

An Akron woman was arrested Wednesday after she reportedly assaulted an employee at a Coventry Township dental office and then trashed that office. 

The Summit County Sheriff's Office was called to the Kenmore Family Dental Center Wednesday for a disturbance. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Tamar Maple, became upset at the office, punched an employee, and then damaged a computer and a dental drill, throwing other items around the office.

By the time deputies arrived, Maple had fled the scene. She was later arrested at her Akron home. 

Maple has been charged with felony vandalism, misdemeanor assault, and disorderly conduct. She's been booked in Summit County Jail.

Parma Man Killed Along Coventry Twp Road

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is reporting a 29-year-old man from Parma was killed in that accident that closed State Mill Road in Coventry Township for more than 3 hours Friday morning.

Reports are that two pedestrians were walking along State Mill Road, one of them, the man that was killed, actually in the roadway. At about 5:30 Friday morning, the victim was hit by an oncoming Honda CRV driven by a 71-year-old man from Coventry Township. 

The victim was taken to Akron General where he was later pronounced dead. 

Neither the driver nor the other pedestrian suffered any injuries. 

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion and robbery at a Coventry Township home on Chenoweth Road last night.

 

According to the Sheriff's Office report, the suspect or suspects brok into the home at about 11:20 p.m. They took cash and several guns, including a 12-gauge shotgun, three rifles, and serveral other firearms. 

In addition to the robbery, the Sheriff's Office is reporting damage inside the home and damage to vehicles at the home.

Victim Shot Along 77 in Coventry Township

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was shot multiple times along I-77 near Wilbeth Road in Coventry Township Saturday night, just before 10 p.m.

According to the release, Deputies responded to a one-car accident in that same area, where they found a silver BMW that has crashed into the guardrail along the southbound lanes near Wilbeth. The driver was slumped over in the car, revived on the scene, and taken to Akron City Hospital where he was treated and is expected to survive.

Investigators are not releasing the name of the victim, and are asking anyone with information to call the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

(SCSO) On October 6, 2018, at approximately 9:54 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle accident on Interstate 77 North at the 122 Mile Post. A silver BMW was reported to have crashed into a guard rail and eventually coming to rest in the northbound lanes of traffic.

The driver of the vehicle appeared to be unconscious in the vehicle slumped over the center console. The responding deputies forced open the vehicle and removed the driver. The driver was evaluated and found to have multiple gunshot wounds and was showing no signs of life. The deputies performed first aid until the arrival of the Coventry Fire Department. The male was revived on scene and transported to Akron City Hospital and is expected to survive.

The shooting was determined to have occurred on Interstate 77 South near Wilbeth Road in the city of Akron. The victim was identified as a 22 year old male from the city of Akron. The identity of the male victim is not being released at this time. Anyone with information can call the Summit County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers.
