Dana Addis, Superintendent at Norton City School District, joined Ray. They discussed safety measures being taken to keep children safe when there is a threat or danger. Addis says that they are doing more now for mental health than they ever have before.

:19 - After the Indians’ 2-0 loss to the Houston Astros, they took care of a couple of needs in a big three-team trade. The Tribe sent Trevor Bauer to the Reds, and picked up a haul from both Cincinnati and San Diego in acquiring the bats of Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes. Ray and Tony touched on the deal, which, out of the three teams, benefits the Indians the most.

6:19 - Tuesday was Barberton mayor Bill Judge’s state of the city address, and he recapped what he mentioned with Ray the next morning. Those topics included the loss of B&W and the gain of the Amazon fulfillment center in the immediate area.

12:48 - Norton superintendent Dana Addis talked about We Roar Together, a new five-year plan for their school system.

17:53 - Ray and Tony talked a little more on the trade, and more on Bauer’s contract and antics.

Norton School District Cuts 27 Jobs

The Norton Board of Education has approved a reduction in the workforce, eliminating 27 total jobs, and reducing 33 full-time jobs to part time.

Superintendent Dana Addis recommended the reduction to the Board and Teachers Union.

Four schools are affected by the move, which takes effect August first.
