Newcomerstown Officer Shot, Suspects Loose

Newcomerstown Police have issued a statewide Blue Alert after an officer was shot Tuesday morning around 10:15 at Johnson Hill Road SW and Post Boy Rd. SW in Tuscarawas County. 

Police are looking for two male suspects driving a black Geo Tracker with the windows heavily tinted and no plates. Both men are believed to be armed and dangerous. 

Information has been released on one of the suspects. His name is Chaz Gillilan, 28. He's listed at 5'11", 185 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. A photo of Gillilan was release (see above). 

Anyone who sees the suspects is asked to immediately call 911. 

The name or condition of the officer has not been released as of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

The following is a Facebook post from the Canal Fulton Police Department: 

A Newcomerstown police officer was involved in a shooting as the victim. The officer is reported to be driving himself to Newcomerstown Fire Department for assistance. The shooting took place close to the Newcomerstown Corporation near the bridge over the Tuscarawas River. There are two male subjects fleeing the scene headed South on Johnson Hill Road in a Black Geo Tracker. All available area law enforcement officers are searching for them. The passenger named as Chaz Gillilan was reported to be the shooter, using a handgun.
Subjects believed to have a shotgun in the vehicle also bottles appearing to be part of a 'Rolling Meth Lab' was also reported seen inside.
