FOTW: Police Looking for Medina Co. Man

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for this week's Fugitive of the Week, 59-year-old Charles "Tony" Miller.

The U.S. Marshals Office out of Cleveland say that Miller, whose last known address was along Avon Lake Rd. in Litchfield, Ohio, is wanted for the shooting death of a man in the Steelyard Commons parking lot back on October 27th, of last year.

Miller is a listed at 6 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 250 pounds, and is possibly driving either a full size van or a blue Mercury Grand Marquis with an Ohio temp tag or a Georgia license plate.

Hackney Brothers Run Comes To An End

Life on the lam for a pair of Akron brothers wound up being short and not-so-sweet; now both are behind bars.

The U.S. Marshal's officer reports 28-year old Christopher Hackney turned himself in to authorities without incident. His brother, 30-year old Spencer Hackney, was arrested in Huntington, West Virginia by members of the U.S. Marshal's office on warrants issued by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugutive Task Force after he tried to get away from officers and rammed his vehicle into two cars being driven by the Marshals Service.

The elder Hackney is awaiting extradition to Akron but may face additional charges in West Virginia.

Both men were wanted since an incident last Thursday on Amherst Drive in the Summit Lake neighborhood when shots were fired at a 19-year old man following an argument.

Hackney, 30.

Spencer and his brother Christopher Hackney have been wanted since Thursday evening by the Akron Police Department after they were both involved in a felonious assault shooting in the 700 block of Amherst St. in Akron. According to police, both brothers fired shots at the victim after a verbal altercation in the victim's driveway. Spencer and Christopher have been on the run since.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force developed information that Spencer Hackney was hiding out in the Huntington, West Virginia area with family members. Last night, Deputies were able to locate Hackney, when they attempted to stop him in a vehicle he fled from officers. As Hackney fled he smashed into 2 Marshals Service vehicles but was quickly apprehended.

Spencer Hackney is currently in custody in West Virginia awaiting extradition back to Akron. He may also face new charges in West Virginia in regards to the assault on law enforcement officers. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, "Quick action by members of the task force and U.S. Marshals Service in Ohio and West Virginia are what brought one of the two of these men to justice. We will not stop looking until the second suspect is arrested and brought to justice."

NOVFTF Gets A Two-Fer

The U.S. Marshal's office reporting a two-fer on this Tuesday. Among the fugitives corraled was a Garfield heights man wanted for attempted murder and rape, tracked down to a home on Prange Avenue in Cuyahoga Falls where 38-year old John Eskridge was found hiding in a bedroom. Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force members also picked up 23-year old Damon Chapman; he was wanted in connection with a Cleveland gas station murder in April.

(US Marshal) Yesterday afternoon and into the evening, members of the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Damon Chapman, 23 and John Eskridge, 38. Chapman was wanted for homicide by the Cleveland Police Department and Eskridge was wanted by the Garfield Heights Police Department for aggravated assault, domestic violence, and gross sexual imposition. He is also wanted by the Adult Parole Authority for parole violations, with an underlying offense of attempted murder and rape. Eskridge has also failed to report his change of address with the
Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department for his requirements to register as a sex offender causing a warrant to be issued for his arrest.

It is alleged that on April 9th, Chapman shot and killed a man walking out of a gas station in Cleveland’s Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood. Members of the task force gathered information that Chapman was staying at a home near the 2100 block of E. 85th St. in Cleveland. Task force officers made entry into the home and located Chapman hiding in the attic. Chapman was transported to the Cleveland Police Department.

Eskridge allegedly violently assaulted his girlfriend and two of her teenage children and attempted to sexually assault one as well. These crimes occurred on January 10th, 2017. Eskridge was featured as the Fugitive of the Week at the end of February and though several tips came in the task force was unable to locate Eskridge. After four months, hard work and perseverance paid off. Task force members discovered that Eskridge was staying at a residence around the 3400 block of Prange Ave. in Cuyahoga Falls.

Officers entered the home and found Eskridge hiding in an upstairs bedroom. Eskridge was transported to the Cuyahoga Co. Jail. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “We were two for two tonight. Anytime you take a murderer and a rapist off the street is a great night for law enforcement and a great night for the community."

Akron Man On Most Wanted Fugitive List

US Marshalls are on the hunt for their fugitive of the week--Mark Eugene Clay, and an unknown accomplice, who who held a 62 year old Akron at gunpoint while they robbed her home last month. The victim told police she recognized Clay as a friend of her son's.

Clay is wanted on aggravated robbery, abduction, and aggravated burglary charges. Marshalls say he's armed and dangerous, and a reward is being offered for his arrest.

(U.S. Marshal) The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Mark Eugene Clay. Clay is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Akron Police Department for aggravated robbery, abduction, and aggravated burglary. On April 26, Clay and an unknown accomplice broke into a 62 year old woman's home. Clay and the accomplice tried to tie her up with but when that didn't work they held a gun to her head until they searched her home for valuables.

The men fled the scene in a grey SUV.  Clay is a 24 year old black male standing approximately 6'03" and weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Clay is believed to be hiding in the Akron area and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Akron Fugitive Turns Himself In

Akron Police and the U.S. Marshals Office say Kenneth Lindsey, 28, of Akron, has turned himself in on a murder warrant. 

On Wednesday April 19th, police say Lindsey and 32-year-old Reginald Edwards were involved in an argument outside of Lindsey's home on Pine Knolls Drive. During the argument Lindsey pulled out a gun and shot Edwards in the chest. Lindsey then fled the scene. 

Edwards, meanwhile, was transported to Akron City Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Lindsey had been on the run since the shooting, but on Tuesday, he turned himself in to Akron Police with his lawyer. 

Lindsey is charged with the murder of Reginald Edwards.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has named Kenneth Lindsey of Akron this week's Fugitive of the Week. 

Lindsey is wanted in connection to a murder last week on Pine Knolls Drive. It happened Wednesday morning around 7 a.m. Police say it started as a verbal argument and then Lindsey allegedly shot the victim in the chest.

Akron Man Makes Most Wanted List

An Akron man is the latest to make the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive most wanted list. Police are looking for 26-year old Jevonte Walker for aggravated robbery for holding a woman at gunpoint as she was sitting in her car last month. He's also facing various parole violations.

Walker is hard to miss; he has tattoos on his neck and face, and is believed to be hiding out in the Akron area.

(US Marshal) The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Jevonte Walker.

Walker is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Akron Police Department for aggravated robbery and having weapons while under disability. He is also wanted by the Adult Parole Authority for various parole violations. On March 12 of this year, Walker allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint while she was sitting in her car. He then fled in a silver car.

Walker is a 26 year old black male standing approximately 5'08" and weighing 170 pounds. He has brown hair and browneyes. Walker also has numerous tattoos on his neck and face. Walker is believed to be hiding in the Akron area.

UPDATE Medina Most Wanted Nabbed

The Medina man who topped the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force list is back behind bars -- after a brief taste of freedom. The U.S. Marshal's office reported Brooks Howard was taken into custody without incident at a home on Puritas Avenue in Cleveland, not far from MetroHealth Hospital where he'd been getting treatment for injuries after jumping off a third story building trying to evade police with a warrant.

Howards was wanted for bond violations on gross sexual imposition and importuning charges; he violated the terms of the bond after an arrest for domestic violence.

(U.S. Marshals Office) Today at approximately 12:00pm the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Brooks Howard, 33. Howard was wanted by the Medina County Sheriff's Office for bond violations and by the Medina Police Department for obstruction of justice. 

Howard was out on bond for two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of importuning, earlier in the month he violated the terms of his bond when he was arrested for domestic violence. On Saturday, when officers attempted to arrest Howard he jumped off of a third story building in an attempt to evade police. He was eventually apprehended and taken to the hospital due to injuries he sustained while fleeing. Sunday afternoon, Howard ran again in a further attempt to avoid the charges against him.

Both the Akron and Cleveland Divisions of the Fugitive Task Force worked tirelessly over the past two days trying to locate the fugitive. Howard was quickly featured as the Fugitive of the Week and his face was posted on the Lamar billboards across northeast Ohio. This morning, information was gathered that Howard was hiding in a home in Cleveland. Members of the task force made contact with Howard as he was attempting to hide in a home in the 13900 block of Puritas Ave. 

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott added, "Quick teamwork amongst the divisions of our task force quickly brought this dangerous predator back into custody."

Medina Man Makes Most Wanted List

This week's most wanted from the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force comes from Medina.

Police are looking for 33-year old Brooks Howard, wanted for violating bond and obstruction of justice. He escaped from custody from Metro Hospital in Cleveland over the weekend after an arrest for gross sexual imposition went bad, then left the hospital and was last seen in the neighborhood of the Cleveland hospital. Police believe he could be staying with family or friends in the Medina and Wooster areas.

(U.S. Marshals Office) The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for informationwhich would lead to the capture of fugitive Brooks Howard. Howard is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service, the Medina County Sheriff and the Medina Police Department for bond violations and obstruction of justice.

On Saturday evening, officers attempted to arrests Howard for violating the terms of his bond. Howard was originally on bond out of Medina County, where he was charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of importuning, Howard fled from officers. Howard was later apprehended and taken to Metro Hospital in Cleveland for his injuries sustained during his escape attempt. 

Sometime Sunday afternoon Howard left the hospital and has been in hiding since. Howard is a 33 year old white male standing approximately 5'11" and weighing 165 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Howard was last seen near Metro Health Hospital on West 25th St. in Cleveland, but most of his friend and family are living in the Medina and Wooster areas.

Akron Man Makes Most Wanted List

An Akron fugitive is making the Most Wanted list issued by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Police are looking for Antoine "Bird" Bennett, 31, wanted for the shooting and murder of Gabriel Rios after a fight on Valentine's Day during a North Howard Street party. Bennett is described as armed and dangerous and is believed to be hiding out in Cleveland.

(U.S. Marshal's Office) The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Antoine 'Bird' Bennett. Bennett is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Akron Police Department for homicide. According to Akron Police, Bennett was at a house party on February 14, in the 500 block of Howard St., when a fight broke out Bennett allegedly shot and killed Gabriel Rios. Bennett was quickly identified as the shooter, and has been on the run ever since. 

Bennett is a 31 year old black male standing approximately 5'10" and weighing 245 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Bennett is believed to be hiding in the area of East 30th and Cedar in Cleveland. Bennett should be considered armed and dangerous.

U.S. Marshal Pushes 10 Still-Most-Wanted

The U.S. Marshal is carrying over 10 of the "most wanted" fugitives from 2015 who weren't nabbed through the work of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

The list includes violent felons wanted on a host of charges, including the shooting of a three-year old, individuals charged with murder, child pornography, aggravated robbery, assault and various weapon and drug charges.

(US Marshal) The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of 10 of the remaining fugitives from 2015.

During 2015 the United States Marshals Service, Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has brought 45 fugitives into custody through the Fugitive of the Week program. These arrests have been a direct result of the partnership with the local media and the help and support from the community. With 3 days left in 2015 the NOVFTF has 10 individuals that have been profiled but have not yet been captured, and we need the public's help to cross these fugitives off our list.

RODERICK RODGERS: wanted since June for aggravated robbery. Rodgers is 27 years old, stands 5'10" and weighs 170 pounds.

DONNELL LINDSEY: wanted since September for the shooting death of 3 year old Major Howard. Lindsey is 22 years old, stands 6'00" and weighs 170 pounds. There is a $5,000 reward for information directly leading to the arrest of Donnell Lindsey.

RAMADII PARKER: wanted since 2006, profiled by the NOVFTF in November for felonious assault, distribution of drugs and weapons violations. Parker is 37 years old, stands 5'08" and weighs 215 pounds.

OWEN NEWLAND: wanted since October for distribution of child pornography. Newland is 29 years old, stands 6'04" and weighs 190 pounds.

MALCOLM THOMAS: wanted since August for domestic violence and unlawful restraint. Thomas is 27 years old, stands 5'10" and weighs 190 pounds.

SAVONTE HUFFMAN: wanted since December for a shooting death, where the victim was killed in front of his 5 year old child. Huffman is 21 years old, stands 5'04" and weighs 105 pounds.

THOMAS SCOTT: wanted, along with his brother Christopher Scott, for distribution of cocaine and heroin. Scott is 31 years old and stands 5'08" and weighs 150 pounds.

ROCCO PANDOLI: wanted since October for aiding and abetting in a homicide, which took place in West Virginia. Pandoli is 27 years old, stands 5'09" and weighs 200 pounds. 

ROBERT YANCEY: wanted since October for aggravated burglary where he assaulted a young woman. Yancey is 55 years old, stands 6'02" and weighs 180 pounds.

CHRISTOPHER SCOTT: wanted, along with his brother Thomas Scott, for distribution of cocaine and heroin. Scott is 33 years old, stands 5'06" and weighs 155 pounds.
