Social media has exploded in the last decade, and though most of those users own a Facebook account, others have found their niche on Instagram and Snapchat. But what exactly are these apps?
Mark Welfley from Welfley Technologies in Fairlawn joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to talk about social media security. Welfley discussed the growth of Instagram and privacy issues that surround that medium. The new player in the social media marketplace is Snapchat, which has become so popular that over 2 billion photos are sent per day on that app.
But with new media, there comes issues with lack of privacy and pornography. Welfley stresses there isn’t a magic pill to wipe it all away, but he suggests parents should download these apps and search through them thoroughly before approving.
