This week, our 1590 WAKR Male Student Athlete of the Week is Jordan Jolly, a senior baseball player at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
He said he's excited for the excpectations surrounding the team this year, and leadership is something he takes seriously.
“Being a senior, I've embraced the captain role, leading some of the younger guys,” Jolly said.
“For myself personally, I just want to be able to pitch well and create opportunities for my team to go out there and win the game.”
Jordan is a three-sport athlete, lettering in golf, basketball, and baseball. He says he takes his academics seriously as well, knowing the balance between sports and schoolwork is key to success not only on the playing field, but in life.
“Academics is first and foremost,” Jordan explains. “Being able to manage both schoolwork and baseball is something I pride myself in, and making sure my grades are up and doing well.”
Jordan recently committed to Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH to play baseball and plans on studying Sports Medicine and Marketing.
On the diamond at Wittenberg, Jolly plans on pitching and playing a little outfield as well.
We wish Jordan success in all of his future endeavors at 1590 WAKR.
