This week, our 1590 WAKR Male Student Athlete of the Week is Choady Jenkins, a senior bowler from North High School.
Jenkins said bowling has been a part of his family and his life from a very early age, and he has truly grown to appreciate it.
“I've been bowling since I was three our four,” he explained. “I bring the fun into bowling for North, and I get to know my teammates and make them my family.”
His high game with North is a 254 and his coach Fred Friberger says it's all about “one frame at a time.”
He is a three-sport athlete, competing in bowling, baseball, and football. In addition to those accomplishments, he also is on the honor roll and has a 3.8 GPA.
Jenkins says that time management is key to balancing three sports as well as maintaining his schoolwork.
He says that his one of his goals as a senior is to win a city championship in bowling and leave a good legacy for the younger bowlers at North High.
We at 1590 WAKR wish Choady the best in all of his future endeavors.
