Akron Police Investigating West Akron Homicide Featured

Akron Police are investigating a shooting that left a 36-year-old man dead in West Akron Tuesday night.
 
Officers first responded to the 800 block of Work Drive just before 6:30 where they found the victim in the backyard of a home. That victim was taken to Akron General where he was later pronounced dead.
 
Investigators believe the man was shot during an argument, but they have not released any suspect information yet.

Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 36-year-old man that occurred in a west Akron neighborhood. Today, around 6:25 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call in the 800 block of Work Dr. When they got there, they found the victim in the backyard of a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
 
Investigators believe the victim was shot by an unknown suspect during a possible argument. The investigation is in its early stages. No arrests have been made and no further information is available at this time.
 
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy. The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification.
