Both Stark State College and the University of Akron are offering students some significant price breaks this fall.
At U-A, officials say they're cutting the cost of on-campus housing by 30%, which is a little over $2,500. In addition, they say they are not going to raise tuition.
At Stark State, they're taking it a step further, offering free fall semester tuition for all students who are seniors in high school now, and giving them the opportunity to attend class either in person or online.
Both cite the pandemic as a driving factor, with U-A saying they want to help families who have been hit hard by it economically, and Stark State saying that they're funding free fall tuition out of federal pandemic relief funds.
