After a nearly 12-hour manhunt Friday, Canton Police arrested a man connected to the deadly shooting at the Bob Evans on Lesh Street Northeast Friday morning.
Police say Richard James Nelson, 54, walked into the store about 9:30 a.m. Friday and shot Rebecca Jean Rogers, 38, of Canton twice.
Rogers was taken to Mercy Hospital where she died from her injuries.
After the shooting, Nelson ran out of the back of the restaurant and fled the scene. Police eventually caught up with him in East Canton later Friday night, around 8:30. He has been booked in the Stark County Jail on $2 Million bond on Aggravated Murder charges.
Rogers is reportedly the ex-girlfriend of Nelson.
The Bob Evans restaurant has a sign posted on the door that says they will be closed until Thursday.
