City of Akron Offering Warming Center, Shelter From the Cold Featured

With below zero wind chills, and some snow expected on Friday, the City of Akron's Summit Lake Community Center will serve as a warming center from 8AM to 7PM for residents in need of shelter from the cold.
 
While Summit Lake is the one offering extended hours; all the rest of the city's community centers will also be open, but just during normal hours.
 
In addition, the city'semergency overnight shelter,  located at 111 East Voris St. will be open from Wednesday, Feb. 1 – Friday, Feb. 3 from 7:00pm-8:00am.
 
That facility, which operates through a partnership between several local organizations, provides food, shelter, and clothing.
