A big investment at Case Western Reserve University as they announce plans to build a new $300 million dollar interdisciplinary research facility.
Eric Kaler the president of Case Western believes they need a building that will match the caliber of their researchers telling News 5, “We have some really terrifically talented researchers, but they are working in spaces that are 50, 60 or 70 years old and just not conducive to the modern research that we need to be doing.”
University officials say that the new facility will provide a place for researchers in the sciences and engineering to solve modern problems like energy, climate change, and artificial intelligence.
The new building will replace Yost Hall off Euclid Avenue and construction is expected to be completed by 2026.
