Since Wednesday afternoon, crews from the Coventry Township Fire Department and the Summit County Water Rescue Team have been searching for a missing 18 year-old man in the Portage Lakes.
The Coventry Township Fire Department says crews found the body of a male at about 9:45 this morning.
Though his identity has not yet been confirmed, crews found the body "in the general vicinity" of the missing man.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's office is in the process of identifying the body found.
(Coventry Township Fire Department, release) The Coventry Township Fire Department, along with members of the Summit County Water Rescue Team, the Ohio Division of Natural Resources, and The Summit County Sheriff, have been searching the Portage Lakes for a missing swimmer since being alerted on Wednesday July 13 at 2:23 pm.
Crews have continued to search since the initial report was received. This morning at approximately 9:45 am crews located the body of a male in the general vicinity of the missing swimmer.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's office has been notified and is in the process of identifying the individual. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
