ARRESTED: Fugitive of the Week Caught

Update: Wednesday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Randy Fitzgerald on a traffic stop on Route 8 in Macedonia.

The task force was assisted by officers from Boston Heights, the Summit Count Sheriff's Office and the Macedonia Police Department.

Although several tips were submitted on this case, the arrest was not a result of a tip.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is looking for Randy Fitzgerald, of Akron, who is this week's Fugitive of the Week.

U.S. Marshals and Akron Police are reporting that Fitzgerald is wanted for Weapons Under Disability in connection to an incident that left a small child shot in the stomach.

Back on May 20th, three children, ages 8,9 and 12, were left alone in a home on Marcy Street, when one of those children found one a gun, believed to belong to Fitzgerald, and shot another child in the stomach. The child lived. In the home, responding officers found another gun, drugs, and body armor. A warrant was issued for Fitzgerald who has been on the run since.

FOW: Akron Man Wanted in August Rape

The Akron Police Department, U.S. Marshals, and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force are asking the public's help finding Coren Harris Sr., who they say is wanted for kidnapping and rape. 

Harris Sr. (pictured) is wanted for the rape of a woman at his last known address on Cuyahoga Street in Akron back in August. 

He's a 43-year-old black male, about 6 foot 1 inch, weighing about 250 pounds. 

Akron Police detectives believe that Harris Sr. is still in or around the Akron area and consider him to be armed and dangerous.

Locals Make Dangerous Dozen List

A couple of locals making the U.S. Marshal's northern Ohio "Most Wanted" list. Akron's Mark Clay has been wanted since April 26th when he was ID'd as one of two men who broke into a woman's home, held her at gunpoint and searched the home for valuables. He may still be in the Akron area. Canton's Maurice Stewart is wanted on a slew of drug and weapons charges since November of last year; he has a prior conviction for involuntary manslaughter of a police officer and is considered armed and dangerous, and is believed to be part of a drug ring that reaches into Detroit, Toledo and West Virginia.

(U.S. Marshal) U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott has released the July 2017 updated “Dangerous Dozen” list of most wanted fugitives for the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF). The following fugitives were added to replace the five vacancies:

Joshua Pallitta is a Toledo fugitive wanted for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Investigators believe Mitchell has ties in throughout Northwest Ohio and Upper Michigan.

William Shannon is a Mansfield area fugitive wanted for weapons offenses since April of 2017. Shannon has ties to the Mansfield area, however he may have fled the area after his warrant was issued.

MauriceStewart mugshotMaurice Stewart (seen at left) is a Canton area fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the FBI for numerous counts of drug trafficking and weapons violations. In November of 2016, during a fugitive investigation, large quantities of heroin and crystal methamphetamine, as well as several firearms were located in a house where Stewart was living. Stewart is believed to be part of a larger drug trafficking operation with ties to Detroit, Canton, Toledo and West Virginia. Stewart has a previous conviction for Involuntary Manslaughter on a Police Officer. He is considered Armed and Dangerous.

Mark Clay (seen above) is an Akron area fugitive wanted for aggravated robbery, abduction and aggravated burglary. It is alleged that On April 26, 2017 Clay and an unknown accomplice broke into a 62 year old woman’s home. Clay and the accomplice held their victim at gunpoint until they searched her home for valuables. The men fled the scene in a grey SUV. Clay has strong ties throughout the Akron area.

Vincent Lee is a Lorain area fugitive wanted for a homicide that occurred in Lorain on January 4, 2017. Lee allegedly shot and killed a 26 year old male at a residence located on the 3300 block of Reid Ave. in Lorain. Lee has ties throughout Lorain but he may have fled the area.

All of the fugitives on the “Dangerous Dozen” should be considered dangerous individuals and should not be approached by the general public. Fugitive Found Under Trailer

U.S. Marshals, with the help of other local law enforcement found and arrested this week's Fugitive of the Week, Thomas Kellwood. About 3:30 Tuesday, Kellwood was found hiding under a trailer off of Stratton Road in West Salem. Marshal Pete Elliot said in a release it was tips that brought in Kellwood, who was wanted for assaulting his mother and two other young family members after an argument.

(US Marshal/Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force) This afternoon at approximately 3:30pm, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Montville and West Salem Police Departments, and Medina and Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Thomas Kellwood, 36. Kellwood has been wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Lodi Police Department after he was involved in a domestic dispute.

During the domestic incident Kellwood allegedly assaulted several members of his family, including two children under the age of 16. Yesterday afternoon Kellwood was featured as the Fugitive of the Week. Within hours, numerous tips poured in regarding Kellwood’s possible whereabouts. Early this morning members of the task force began searching the 11100 block of Stratton Rd. in West Salem for Kellwood. Numerous law enforcement agencies, including Ohio State Highway Patrol air unit and special response team and Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit responded to the area, it was believed that Kellwood was hiding in a heavily wooded area.

After a few hours of searching, Kellwood was found hiding under a trailer. He was arrested without further incident and transported to the Medina County jail.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “Tips on this case came into the task force and officers acted immediately, without the strong community cooperation and the excellent partnership with local law enforcement agencies this fugitive may still be on the run."

Stark Deputies Pick Up Second Suspect

Stark County deputies, along with member of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, has arrested a second adult in connection with a burglary that turned into a chase by police following a traffic stop. 19-year old Ja'lon Kirkland was picked up Thursday and joins fellow accused accomplice, 19-year old Raejon Marquell Williams, in the Stark County Jail. Police say Kirkland and Williams were both involved in a burglary in progress when they responded to the scene of a Plain Township home but fled, with one brandishing a weapon during a traffic stop on 30th Street NE.

(Stark County Sheriff) Sheriff George T. Maier is announcing the arrest of 19-year-old Ja’lon Kirkland in connection with an aggravated burglary in Plain Township. On Wednesday, May 3, 2017 deputies responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Cathy Drive NE in Plain Township for an aggravated burglary in progress.

Witnesses stated the suspects brandished a firearm and then fled the scene in a box truck. Responding Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the area and initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle fled east on 30th St NE. The vehicle came to a stop in the area of 30th St NE and Willowrow Ave NE. Kirkland and 19-year-old Raejon Williams fled on foot. Williams was arrested Wednesday, shortly after the incident took place and was booked into the Stark County Jail on charges of Aggravated Burglary and Obstruction of Official Business.

Kikland was taken into custody by deputies at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force. He was arrested at his home in Canton without incident on arrest warrants charging him with Aggravated Burglary and Obstruction of Official Business. He has been booked into the Stark County Jail.

PREVIOUS FROM THURSDAY

Stark County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Cathy Drive NE Wednesday. Two suspects entered the home and pulled guns on the residents. Then they loaded an ATV and a motorcycle into a box truck and sped off. Responding deputies noticed the truck and pulled the suspects over. That's when they fled on foot. One suspect, 19-year-old Raejon Marquell Williams was caught and arrested, the second suspect is still on the loose. After the fact, Deputies arrested a female juvenile in connection. She's been booking in Stark County Juvenile Detention Center. Inside the truck Deputies found a gun and an airsoft pistol.

Update: Michael Cleveland was arrested at a motel in Middleburg Hts. Tuesday.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Michael Cleveland. Cleveland is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for violating the terms of his bond in federal court.

On February 8th a warrant was issued for Cleveland after he failed to report to a halfway house for drug treatment. Cleveland’s bond violation stems from being charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin. Cleveland is a 34 year old white male standing approximately 6’00” and weighing 180 pounds. He has blond hair and hazel eyes.

Cleveland is believed to be hiding in the west side of Cleveland and possibly in Parma. U.S. Marshals Looking For Hudson Man

 

Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is the offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of fugitive Raymond Gates. 

Gates is wanted by U.S. Marshals and Summit County Sheriff's Office on a rape charge. He's accused of raping an elderly woman near her Northfield Center home earlier in February. A warrant was issued for his arrest on February 10th. He is listed as a white male standing 6 feet tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. His last known address is in Hudson, Ohio.

Stow Suspect Arrested In OD Deaths

Vernell Lavon Curry, 28, of Stow, has been arrested after nearly seven months on the run. 

U.S. Marshalls and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force took Curry in Tuesday, January 24, in connection to the overdose deaths of two women in his apartment back in June. He's being held in Summit County Jail on charges of Involuntary Manslaughter and Drug Trafficking. 

In June, 2016, Abigail Hackett, 22, and Sarah White, 25, both of Stow, were found dead inside Curry's Stow apartment. An autopsy showed the two women died within minutes of one another of acute fentanyl toxicity. Curry wasn't connected to the case until October when the autopsy results came back on the two women.

Top Wanted Terry Picked Up

Finess Terry didn't go far on the lam from charges he pulled the trigger in a March 2016 street gunfight that sent a bullet into a house and injured a man sitting in his home. Terry was picked up on Triplett Avenue after spending time on the Most Wanted list for the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

(NOVFTF) The Fugitive of the Week, Finess Terry, was arrested this afternoon by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Terry has been wanted since March of 2016 for felonious assault and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure in the Akron area. Members of the task force arrested Terry in the 1300 block of Triplett Blvd in Akron.Terry’s arrest was a direct result of information provided through the tip line. Calhoun Bagged In Steubenville

David Calhoun has been on the lam since Thanksgiving week after police say he shot and killed a Ravenna Township couple and their unborn baby. Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force along with their counterparts from West Virginia and police from Steubenville caught the 25-year old hiding in a closet. He's expected to be brought back to Portage County.
 
Calhoun will be charged with murdering Lashaun Sanders, Sara Marsh and the unborn baby.

DavidCalhoun(U.S. Marshal) U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott and Portage County Sheriff David Doak are pleased to announce that in the early hours of Saturday morning members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force and the Steubenville Police Department, arrested 25 year old David Calhoun.
 
Calhoun was wanted by the Portage County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals for a triple homicide as well as the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a parole violation. It is alleged that on November 30th, 2016
 
Calhoun shot two people on Henderson Rd. in Ravenna. The victims were 33 year old Lashaun Sanders who died at the scene and 32 year old Sara Marsh who died at the hospital. Marsh was pregnant and the baby did not survive.
 
Task Force officers developed information that Calhoun was staying at a home near the 500 block of Lindin Ave. in Steubenville, OH. Task force members went to the house and saw a man fitting the description of Calhoun inside the home. Officers made entry and located Calhoun hiding in an upstairs closet. Calhoun was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he will wait to be brought back to Portage County.
 
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “Calhoun was at the very top of our list due to the extreme violent nature of his crime. Task force members tirelessly pursued this criminal day and night until capturing him today.

Cops Looking For Shooting Suspect

Akron police and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Tas Force could use a helping hand finding an Akron fugitive.

Police say 25-year old Finess Terry is wanted after a gunfight in a car parked on the 300 block of Chittenden Avenue in March. One of the bullets sailed into a nearby house and injured a 63-year old woman sitting inside; she was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Terry is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information should call police and not attempt to stop Terry themselves.

(Akron PD) The Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force are asking for assistance from the public for information that could lead to the arrest of Finess A. Terry. Terry is wanted for felonious assault and discharging firearm into habitation.

On March 24, 2016 around 6:00pm, Finess Terry was involved in a gunfight with other males in a car in the 300 block of Chittenden Street. A stray bullet went through a house on Chittenden Street and struck a 63 year old female inside. The female victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Finess Terry is a black male, 25 years old, 5'09" and 160 lbs. His last known address was on Duane Avenue in Akron.

Finess Terry should be considered armed and dangerous.

A man who walked away from an Akron halfway house is being sought as this week's Fugitive of the Week.

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force says 36 year-old Joey Bedenbaugh had been placed Oriana House by the Bureau of Prisons. He was under firearms offenses.

He's believed to be hiding in Akron's Goodyear Heights neighborhood.

Bedenbaugh is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for escape, with an underlying offense of firearms violations. Late last month, Bedenbaugh walked away from the Oriana House Halfway House in Akron. Bedenbaugh had been placed there by the Bureau of Prisons and was still considered an inmate.

Bedenbaugh is a 36 year old white male standing approximately 6'03" and weighing 180 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Bedenbaugh is believed to be hiding in the Goodyear Heights area of Akron.

Task Force Arrests Wanted Rape Suspect

An Akron man wanted for breaking into a woman's home and raping her, while her child was in the home, has been arrested.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force says they arrested 29 year-old Lorenzo Finsley early this/Tuesday morning at a home on Simmons Court in Akron, after numerous tips were received.

Police say that on June 7th, Finsley broke into the woman's home and raped her...she broke free and grabbed a knife, and police say that's when Finsley fled the scene.

(Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, news release) Early this morning, the Akron Division of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 29 year old Lorenzo Finsley.

Finsely was wanted by the Akron Police Department and United States Marshals for rape, aggravated burglary, sexual battery, assault and aggravated menacing. The charges allege that on June 7, Finsley broke into the home of a female victim and preceded to rape her while her child was in the home. During the assault, the victim managed to break free and grab a knife for protection. Finsley then grabbed the child to shield himself from the knife. Finsely then fled the scene.

The U.S. Marshals profiled Finsley at the Fugitive of the Week on July 5 and numerous tips were generated as a result. Finsely was arrested by members of the Task Force at a residence located on the 1000 block of Simmons Court in Akron.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott added, "All across the community, members of our task force are out every day trying to keep the community safe from criminals who prey on innocent victims. Today, the community is safer because this dangerous fugitive is behind bars."

Fugitive Of The Week With Akron Ties

This week's Fugitive of the Week has Akron ties.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force says 43 year-old Ahmad Jabr is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Summit County Sheriff's Office for failing to report to court on a number of weapons and other charges.

He's also accused of violating the terms of his federal probation.

Jabr has connections to Strongsville and Cleveland in addition to Akron.

(Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, news release) The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Ahmad Jabr.

Jabr is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Summit County Sheriff's Office. Jabr has failed to report to court for underlying charges of carrying a concealed weapon, having weapons under disability, receiving stolen property and improperly handling firearm in a motor vehicle. Jabr has also allegedly violated the terms of his federal probation.

Jabr is a 43 year old male standing approximately 5'07" and weighing 175 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. Jabr has connections to Strongsville, Akron, and Cleveland.

Fugitive Of The Week Has Akron Ties

This week's "Fugitive of the Week" has Akron ties.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force says 32 year-old David Eugene Jones is wanted for a federal supervised release violation - on an original charge of cocaine distribution in northern West Virginia.

The U.S. Marshal's Service says he has ties to the Akron area, but also to southern Ohio and West Virginia.

"Fugitive Of The Week" From Akron

This week's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Fugitive of the Week is a man with Akron ties.

The task force says Wesley Tucker is wanted on charges linked to a conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with the intent to distribute them.

Tucker is wanted on charges involving over 8 pounds of crystal meth last November.

The task force says Tucker has a last known address in the 600 block of West Exchange Street in Akron.

Tucker's last known address was in the 600 block of West Exchange St. in Akron.

Akron Man Makes "Dangerous Dozen" List

U.S. Marshals have named an Akron man in this month's "Dangerous Dozen" list of most wanted fugitives in the area.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is searching for Michael Ayers who is wanted for a Roslyn Avenue shooting in late September that left a 26-year-old man with serious injuries. The victim spent more than a month in a hospital.

Ayers is also wanted for parole violations stemming from an unrelated felonious assault conviction.

Police, Task Force Seek Violent Fugitive

Police are looking for an Akron man wanted for felonious assault.

Akron Police and the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force want to arrest 39 year-old Michael Deshawne Ayers for a violent assault on Roslyn Avenue in September.

They say Ayers got into an argument with a 26 year-old man in front of a sidewalk, and fired several shots at him, striking him "several times".

The victim suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized for over a month. Ayers is 6' 2" and 219 lbs. and is pictured above.

(APD, news release) The Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force are asking for assistance from the public for information that could lead to the arrest of Michael Deshawne Ayers. Ayers is wanted for Felonious Assault.

On September 20, 2015 around 10:15 in the evening, Michael Ayers got into an argument with a 26 year old male on the sidewalk in front of a house in the 1300 block of Roslyn Avenue. Following the argument, Ayers pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the victim, striking the victim multiple times. The victim was transported to Akron General Medical Center where he remained hospitalized for over a month. The victim suffered very serious injuries.

Michael Deshawne Ayers is a black male, 39 years old, 6'02", and 219 lbs. He has a last known address on Stadelman Avenue.

A reward is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for information directly related to the arrest of Michael Deshawne Ayers.
