On this Monday edition of the Jasen Sokol Show, Jeff Schudel of The News Herald and The Morning Journal joins Jasen to break down the latest in sports (00:17), Larry Magid of CBSNews.com talks about the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (12:49), and Monday's Dope of the Day is revealed (17:35).
It's been an incredible ride for the Indians this year, and one of the architects of it all joined Jasen live from Progressive Field Wednesday.
Indians General Manager Mike Chernoff joined Jasen to talk about the Tribe's winning streak, the acquisition of Jay Bruce, and the timetable for injured players Andrew Miller, Jason Kipnis, and Michael Brantley.
For more than 40 years, Indians fans have heard the beat of John Adams' bass drum at nearly every Indians game.
Adams first drummed at an Indians game on August 24, 1973 at the old Municipal Stadium. He joined the Jasen Sokol Show ahead of the Indians' run at a 21st consecutive victory to talk about the Tribe's remarkable run and share some of his stories of four decades in the Cleveland bleachers.
Tuesday is the day: Game 1 of the World Series in Cleveland featuring the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs at Progressive Field.
As any Indians fan can tell you, the team has seen its share of injuries, especially in the later part of the season. One of those injuries was starting pitcher Danny Salazar. He hasn't pitched for the Tribe since leaving the game back on September 9th against the Minnesota Twins with a strained right forearm.
On Tuesday, ahead of the start of the World Series, the Indians released their official World Series roster. The good news; it included Right-Handed Pitcher Danny Salazar. To make room for Salazar, the Indians removed RHP Cody Anderson from the WS roster. Over the past weekend, Indians Manager Terry Francona said his starting pitching rotation for the World Series is "to be announced" following Game 3. Corey Kluber gets the start in Game 1 Tuesday, and Games 2 and 3 are to be decided between Trevor Bauer and Josh Tomlin. Francona said, of Bauer who is healing from a finger injury that left him an early-exit in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays, he wants to give Bauer as much time as possible.
