It was announced overnight on Twitter by President Trump himself that he and his wife, Melania, have tested positive for COVID-19. Though many across the political spectrum have disagreements with the president as far as rhetoric and policy, he is receiving well wishes One of those well-wishers is Akron mayor Dan Horrigan, who is a Democrat, and he joined the Ray Horner Morning Show on Friday. In order to cut down on the chances of attracting this virus, Horrigan says he and his staff have eliminated nearly all public events, opting instead for virtual meetings and gatherings. The few events he does conduct are outside where he is masked up and socially distanced. The mayor also looked at how the pandemic has affected downtown Akron businesses and the need for additional stimulus dollars. Horrigan also encouraged the listeners to patronize the downtown businesses on Main Street that are back up and running, such as the Peanut Shoppe.
