Akron Mayor, City Council Considering Doorbell Camera Use Featured

Mayor Dan Horrigan and Akron city council have mulled over ways to mitigate the crime rates that have spiked in the city in 2020. One of those possible solutions could be the way of the doorbell camera.

Margo Sommerville is the president of Akron city council, and she joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to discuss how the use of doorbell cameras could lessen the activity in higher crime neighborhoods. There are questions as to the cost of not only the cameras, but the software in order to monitor the activity, but Sommerville believes the Ring camera, or a similar device, could force individuals to think twice about committing an act such as breaking-and-entering.
