The mayor of Akron joins WAKR once a week or so to touch on the various issues and questions facing the citizens. One of those questions, with a big election coming up, is the need for extra security at the polls. Dan Horrigan assured the listeners there won’t be any problems for voters on and before election, as mentioned on the Ray Horner Morning Show. Though he personally is not on the ballot this year, a few charter amendments will be, which he discussed in depth in the interview. The mayor also mentioned how some projects and quality-of-life areas were scaled back in 2020, the cost of city services, and working with the state government for additional stimulus.
