Akron Children's Hospital Seeing an Increase in Delta Variant Cases Featured

In 2020, people around the globe learned rather quickly the effects of COVID-19 and who gets impacted the hardest, which were the elderly and those with preexisting health conditions. But the Delta variant is blanketing a larger part of the population.

Dr. Rob McGregor is the Chief Medical Officer at Akron Children's Hospital, and he shared his perspective on how this variant is affecting kids on the Ray Horner Morning Show. He says this variant is hitting the younger population pretty hard, mainly because they are the group most likely to not have been vaccinated. He also touched on the masking in schools, as well as importance of the vaccine in children and the possibility of it being approved for those 12 years old and younger.
