Student Athletes of the Week: Makayla Martuccio & Roman Rinaldi Featured

This week's athletes are from Tallmadge High School. 
 
Makayla Martuccio is a Sophomore. She excels both in the classroom and on the athletic fields. An excelent student in the classroom, she has a 4.69 GPA. Makayla has had a stellar season on cross country courses around Northeast Ohio.  She has two outright victories winning the Suburban League Championship for the second year in a row and a victory at Gilmour Invitational. Makayla's best time this season was at the Wooster Invitational where she ran 18:53. Additionally, Makayla currently ranks 2nd all time on the Tallmadge record board. 
 

Roman Rinaldi has been an essential part of the varsity football program since his sophomore season. He stepped up, started many games that season, and earned his varsity letter, contributing to an 8-2 regular season and a playoff win. Roman has grown into a fantastic leader on and off the field. His teammates selected him as a captain this season, a role he takes seriously. He has worked tirelessly in the weight room and on the field, becoming a player his coaches, teammates and classmates can rely on. Beyond his athletic contributions, Roman serves as a role model for youth and middle school players, always eager to volunteer in community and youth activities. In the classroom he carries a 4.0 GPA.
