Kevin Kleps, sports business reporter from CraIn's Cleveland Business joined the Sam and Brad Show as they were live from Progressive Field as they discussed the possibility of Cleveland hosting the NFL Draft in 2021.

The announcement will be made in Key Biscayne, Florida tomorrow.

"The Browns and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission feels pretty good about it (the possibility of the draft coming here)," he said.

Ray Horner Podcast - 5/6/2019

:17 - The weekend against the Mariners began well for the Indians with two late-inning wins, but a 10-0 drubbing on Sunday caused some to scratch their heads. Ray and Tony recapped the Indians’ offensive woes, specifically how Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez, and Jason Kipnis are all hitting under .215.

6:02 - Dr. Gary Riggs is our veterinarian who stops by weekly, and he talked to Ray about issues like teeth and gum disease, among others.

10:04 - If you are an Akron resident, did you receive a political robo call from either current mayor Dan Horrigan or former mayor Don Plusquellic? Many did and weren’t happy, and that includes Linda Omobien. The At Large council member talked about a tension between the former mayors, as well as the tensions inside the council chambers.

14:30 - Ray was joined by a couple of former NFL players on this Monday morning. First, Akron native and former Cleveland Brown Frank Stams came in studio, and Bears and Steelers QB Mike Tomczak called into the show. Both Frank and Mike our out to help NFL alumni through their retirement plans, especially in a sport where many careers are finished by age 30.

9:01 - Indians took care of the White Sox in their home opener by the score of 5-3. VP from the Tribe, Bob DiBiasio, joined the show to recap the game and talk about key figures such as Carlos Santana and Brad Hand.

20:15 - West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot dead on Sunday at the age of 33. Tony and Kris mentioned who Nipsey is and his cultural impact, and the conspiracies surrounding the shooting.

:17 - The Cleveland Browns have signed former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, who also went to Willoughby South High School and the University of Toledo. Why is he a former Chiefs running back? There was an incident of physical violence towards a female inside a Cleveland hotel room in 2018, and as soon as the video was released, the Chiefs cut him loose. The panel (which includes Jeanne and Steffany) sounded off on the signing and why the Browns would bring such a PR hit on themselves.

19:13 - We’re a couple of weeks removed from the cyber attack that hit the city of Akron, so what is the solution? A cloud-based service? According to councilman Russ Neal, that may be in the works.

25:20 - It’s Tuesday, and our tax guy, Doug Klein, joined the program to go over tax credits.

33:20 - The Buchtel boys basketball team keeps rolling this year. Head coach Matt Futch talked about his Griffins and the possibility of a shot clock in high school basketball.

Ray Horner Podcast - 1/3/2019

:17 - January 2nd, 2019 was a brutal day if you were a celebrity born in 1942. “Mean Gene” Okerlund, Bob “Super Dave” Einstein, and Daryl “The Captain” Dragon all passed away on Wednesday, and all had huge careers in the 1970s and ‘80s. Ray and Tony chatted about their lives and brought up some fun facts.

6:32 - It’s day two of Ray’s meetings with the local mayors. Today, Barberton mayor Bill Judge called into the show to recap 2018 and look ahead to 2019, specifically how the Magic City can rebound after losing their largest employer.

16:36 - While it seems like people never eat at home anymore, the numbers for chain restaurants have gone way down in 2018. Eaters seem to be abandoning the chains and the sports bars and heading toward the ethnic-themed restaurants.

28:50 - During our Question of the Day, which was about former Cleveland Browns quarterbacks who threw the most touchdowns, Ray and Tony got into yet another discussion about who the team should hire as head coach.

18:16 - The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is called Giving Tuesday. Bishop Nelson Perez from the Diocese of Cleveland promoted We Give Catholic, a 24-hour crowdfunding program to help benefit 195 parishes, schools, and other areas.

22:23 - The biggest regional story of the week is the closing of the Lordstown General Motors plant. How will this affect the economy and jobs as a whole? Richard Peterson from Capital Financial explains.

32:58 - The Ohio State Buckeyes came off a convincing victory over Michigan last weekend, and are set to travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship. 19:05 - Gordon King owns and operates A1 Baseball Glove Repair in Parma, and he has helped refurbish and restring countless old baseball gloves. Gordon also dedicates his time to fixing these gloves for veterans and those in active military duty so they have something to occupy themselves with overseas.
