Aaron has been working with RCRG since August of 2008 covering various news and sporting events. He graduated in 2003 from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron. He then went onto the University of Akron in May of 2008 with a degree in Radio/TV & Media Productions and a minor in Psychology. It was at WZIP & ZTV where Aaron developed a passion for radio especially Sports Radio. While attending the University of Akron you could hear Aaron on Sundays doing the "Sports Power Talk" program. Aaron covers City Hall, County Council and Akron School Board beats and handles traffic updates weekday afternoons on 1590 WAKR, 97.5 WONE and 94.9 WQMX. The Voice of the Browns Jim Donovan caught up with Sam and Brad today to talk about the 2018 draft class for John Dorsey, Hue Jackson and company.

 

Binghamton Rumble Ponies outfielder Tim Tebow spoke with the media prior to tonight's game between Binghamton and the Akron Rubberducks at Canal Park.

Tebow, a former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback at Florida, spent some time in the NFL before transitioning to baseball.

He spoke about that transition and how young people should play more than one sport growing up.

Browns Draft Day: What Will Happen?

Sam Bourquin, Brad Russell, and Justin McKinney broke down the draft from all angles live at TD's Tailgate Grill on Fulton Road.

NFL Analyst Benjamin Allbright spoke with the guys to talk about what quarterback the Browns might take at either #1 or #4.

 

Former Browns General Manager Phil Savage also joined the program to talk about what the draft process is like from the front office perspective as well as some insight as to who the Browns

might take in the first round.

 

Steve King from Browns Daily Dose says that the Browns should go offense with both of their picks.

 

This year's 2018 Male and Female Student Athletes of the Year are Tyler Dawson of Springfield High School and Lexi Shultz of Ellet High School.

This crop of athletes was honored at St. George's Fellowship Centre in Fairlawn during the Student Athlete of the Year Banquet.

Both Tyler and Lexi were humbled and honored to receive the $1,000 scholarships during the annual event.

Dawson plans on studying accounting at the University of Akron.

He says one of his favorite memories as a student athlete was playing with his fellow seniors, most of whom he has played with since he was 12 years old.

“I wouldn't change anything I did,” Dawson explained.

 

 

Tyler was a two-sport athlete, playing both football and basketball at Springfield High School.

Lexi Shultz, our second scholarship winner was a two-sport athlete playing both volleyball and softball for Ellet High School.

She says that she learned a lot of lessons throughout her time at Ellet, including those from Coach Chuck Shuman, her softball coach.

“The biggest thing I took from him was even when things get rough, just keep going, keep your head up,” she said.

 

 Shultz plans on studying Exercise Science at the University of Akron and becoming a physical therapist.

Jordan Bastian Assesses Indians Club

MLB.com reporter for the Cleveland Indians Jordan Bastian asessed the Cleveland Indians during the Sam and Brad Show Wednesday.

He talked about the team's dreadful loss to the Cubs yesterday.

The Tribe and the Cubs will go at 7:10pm tonight in downtown Cleveland. 

Longtime sportscaster and the radio voice of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Don Criqui spoke with Sam and Brad to talk Notre Dame offensive linemen Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey for our Know Your Prospect segment.

He also talked a little Browns as well, offering his thoughts on what can get them turned around.

 

Vince Cellini of Cavaliers In The Paint spoke with Sam and Brad to talk about the Cavs and Pacers series being tied at 2 apiece.

He discussed the emergence of JR Smith on the defensive end against Victor Oladipo and Kyle Korver's 3 point marksmanship in Game #3,

 

CBS Broadcaster Jim Nantz joined the Sam and Brad Show Monday afternoon to talk about being named the 2018 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational Ambassador of Golf.

Nantz was truly humbled by the distinction, saying he truly enjoys coming to Akron's Firestone Country Club.

"Of all the awards I've received in my life, this one really stands out."  Nantz explained.

Nantz will recieve the Ambassador of Golf award  Wednesday August 1 at Firestone's South Course. 

Former Ohio State Buckeye and NFL player Ray Ellis spoke with Sam and Brad to talk about the death of his former coach Earle Bruce.

Bruce passed away at the age of 87 and coached the Buckeyes from 1979-1987.

EL Pitcher of the Week for your Akron Rubberducks Shane Beiber joined the Sam and Brad Show to talk about his hot start to the season.
