Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan on Police Legislation, COVID-19 Featured

With civil unrest across the country, some of these outcries and measures can and have trickled to more medium-sized cities such as Akron.

Akron mayor Dan Horrigan joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to talk more on the legislation brought up by council president Margo Sommerville outlawing chokeholds by local police officers, to which the mayor believes is a “useful piece of legislation.” This segued into a conversation about the public’s growing distrust of police officers, especially in urban areas.

Horrigan also talked about the Coronavirus, which has not gone away, though he commends local leadership and hospitals for keeping the numbers down.
