WAKR and the Ray Horner Morning Show are featuring a member of the black community in Akron who have made an impact by their courage and leadership.

Dr. Sylvester Small has done virtually everything in Akron Public Schools, from substitute teaching to becoming a full-time teacher, to board administrator, assistant principal, principal, and eventually the superintendent. Dr. Small talked about his rise through the school system.
