Juneteenth: Celebration of the End of Slavery Featured

Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. June 19th is the anniversary of the order by Major General Gordon Granger proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas in 1865. Dr. Kevin Kern, Professor of History with the University of Akron, joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to discuss the history of slavery and the holiday.
