The Student Athlete of the Week segment is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital.
This week's athletes are from Barberton High School:
Jenna Matheson is a starting midfielder for the Magics Girls’ Soccer Team. She leads the team on and off the field by her play, effort and example. She is the coach on the field directing the team offensively and defensively. Coach Miller and his staff can count on Jenna to make the in-game adjustments that they are directing from the sideline. Jenna is also a member of the BHS Swim Team for Coach Gisewhite. Jenna carries a 3.9 overall GPA taking mostly Post-Secondary Classes.
Landon Caddell is a member of the BHS Boys’ Soccer team and is the starting center back for the Magics. In his starting role for the Magics, he directs the team defensively for Coach Armbruster. His knowledge of the game helps the team transition from defense to offense during the course of the match. He is the epitome of what it means to be a team player as he always puts the team first and his individual success second. Landon carries a 4.3 overall GPA taking Post-Secondary Classes.
