This week's athletes are from Copley High School.
Hanna Mosier is a junior honor student at Copley and consistently has the top GPA on the swim team. She is the captain of the girls swim team, an honor that is typically given only to seniors on the team. Hanna is a natural sprinter but will swim in any event she is asked to. She is gearing up to compete today at Districts in the 50 and 100 Free as well as the 400 free relay. She continues to drop time and hopes to swim her personal bests at this meet. Hanna excels academically also, she competed in the Science Olympiad and took third in the competition. She holds a 4.0 GPA.
DeVonn Nixon, is a Senior and has been nominated as athlete of the week by the wrestling team for his accomplishments. To date he has a 30 -11 record. He is having a superb season and finished 2nd place at the Titan Classic, 6th place at the Medina Invitational, 3rd place at the Dies Memorial, 3rd place at the Hephner Memorial, and 3rd place at the Suburban League tournament. He is one of the hardest workers on the team and is currently ranked 9th in the State of Ohio at the 165-pound weight class. He has displayed a great deal of leadership this year on and off the mat and maintains a 3.1 GPA.
