Akron police are investigating after a 52-year-old woman was beaten and robbed in what police are calling a senseless and unprovoked attack. 

It happened just before 9pm when the woman exited the Metro Bus on South Arlington Street near Barbara Ave. That’s when, according to the victim, a group of teens began harassing her before knocking her to the ground, kicking and punching her. 

The group of teens, both male and female, were between the ages of 12 and 15. They then stole the woman’s purse and cell phone and fled the scene. The woman was treated at a local hospital for her injuries. Police are now working to identify the suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 330-375-2490 or 330-375-2Tip.
