A 39 year old man who allegedly shot a woman in Akron, then forced her into his pickup truck, was arrested after a police chase that ended in crash on I-480 near Cleveland, on Friday morning.

Police say the shooting ocurred in the 600 block of Cuyahoga Falls Avenue on North Hill, and that the suspect, who has not yet been identified, fled from police who tried to stop him, with the chase ending I-480 West near the Southwood overpass and the Tiedeman Road exit., in Brooklyn.

After the crash, which tied up traffic along the highway for some time; the suspect surrendered peacefully, and the 38 year old woman he allegedly shot was taken to the hospital for treatment of what police describe as non life-threatening injuries.
