A Hudson man will pay roughly $2.4 million in penalties and restitution after defrauding customers who hired him for contracting services.
According to 3 News, Neil Wolfe was sentenced for breaking consumer protection laws at least 71 times through his now defunct company Neil Construction.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost brought a lawsuit against Wolfe back in 2021 alleging that he would pocket customers' down payments while performing inadequate work and sometimes no work at all.
Wolfe will now pay back over $663,000 to the people he scammed, plus $1.775 million in civil penalties.
