Two Homicides in Akron Over the Weekend Featured

Akron Police are investigating two more homicides in the city this past weekend.
 
First, Friday night around 9:30, officers responded to the 500 block of Fuller Street where they found a 21-year-old male with at least one gunshot wound inside of a car. Detectives determined the car was traveling eastbound on Fuller when someone fired several shots into the vehicle, hitting the victim at least onece and causing him to crash the car into a tree. The car had caught fire before officers pulled the victim from the vehicle. He was taken to Akron City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
Saturday evening, just about 5:40, police responded to a home in the 500 block of Dayton Street where one 48-year-old male was shot. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
No names have been released yet and no suspects have been arrested in either shooting. Autopsies are scheduled with the Summit County Medical Examiner today.
