Theft Suspect Who Sicced Dogs on Employee Arrested

Update: Akron Police have arrested Snow's 37-year-old daughter Jennifer Clark (pictured below) in connection to last Friday's theft/dog attack at the Acme on East Avenue. Clark is charged with Aggravated Robbery. 

Police add that now both dogs that were unleashed on the Acme store employee are in custody of the Summit County Animal Control.

Akron Police Detectives have arrested the woman they say stole a cart full of groceries from the Acme Fresh Market on East Avenue Friday afternoon, and then sicced her dogs on a store employee who followed her out to the parking lot.

Linda Snow, 64, of Norton was arrested Tuesday and is charged with Aggravated Robbery and not controlling her dog.

One of the dogs in question was at her home when police arrived and is now in custory of Summit Animal Control.

Social Media Helps Catch Blossom Suspect

A photo taken at the Korn - Alice In Chains Concert at Blossom on Friday and shared on social media by the Summit County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of Ryan Bollas, 44, of Northfield Center Township.
 
The Sheriff's Office is reporting a 19-year-old woman reported a sexual assault that happened Friday during that concert, but couldn't name the suspect.
 
She did snap his photo, though (see picture). 
 
A few days, on Tuesday, August 20th, and more than 3,500 shares on Facebook later, Bollas turned himself in.
 
He's been charged with Sexual Imposition.

:19 - Tony is back from his three-day weekend in Eastern Pennsylvania. He took his fiancee to Philadelphia for some sightseeing and cheesesteaks, though their trip to the Backstreet Boys concert got postponed.

8:37 - White supremacist symbols seem to be increasing this day in age due to the influx of social media. Ray and Tony talked about what’s known as “trolling,” and how toxic online culture has crept into the mainstream.

14:48 - Bob DiBiasio from the Tribe joined the program, and he talked about the progression of Carlos Carrasco, regression of Corey Kluber, and if the Indians will put together an Old Timers’ Game anytime soon.

19:47 - Ray mentioned a list of the friendliest and unfriendliest states in the union. Friendliest was in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and the unfriendliest is the state with the Finger Lakes.

Suspected Drunk Driver Drove Into Dunkin'

William Lavery, 70, of Akron is facing a lot of charges, including Driving Under the Influence, after he drove his 2011 Hyundai Sante Fe into the Dunkin' Donuts at 3305 Manchester Road Saturday morning. 

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Lavery was in the drive thru line at the store when he backed into the car behind him, which in turn hit the car behind it. Then, Lavery drove forward into another car, causing that car to hit the car in front of it. After that, Lavery side-swiped anotehr car before driving right through the front of the store, hitting a patron inside. 

Three people were taken to Akron General with minor injuries. Lavery was taken to Summe Health's Barberton campus, treated for minor injuries. 

Now he's charged with DUI, Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Control, and Negligent Assault.

Medical Marijuana Symposium Coming to Akron

(SUMMIT CO. COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP) Summit County Community Partnership’s medical marijuana committee is hosting a Medical Marijuana Symposium on Friday, September 6, 2019 to provide the community an update on the state of medical marijuana in Ohio and how the law could impact youth, neighborhood residents, employers & their workforce, and government officials. The event will be held at Summit County Public Health – Fairway Center located at 1867 W. Market St. in Akron, Ohio.

State and national experts will share information regarding Ohio's Medical Marijuana Law, the impacts of the law for employers & the workforce, as well as the clinical implications and science of marijuana. The symposium is a primer on Medical Marijuana and will be helpful to employers, government officials, chemical dependency, treatment, prevention and mental health professionals; youth workers, faith based organizations and community residents.

Speakers include: Aaron Weiner, Ph.D., the Director of Addiction Services for Linden Oaks Behavioral Health in Chicago and a national speaker on the clinical implications of marijuana; Marcie Seidel, a member of the Ohio Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee which provides guidance to Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Commission as it oversees the implementation of Ohio’s medical marijuana program, and Karen Pierce, the Managing Director or Working Partners Systems, Inc., an expert on helping employers navigate the uncertainties and impact of Ohio’s Medical Marijuana law.

The event is open to the public but registrations are required..
