The City of Akron's big Juneteenth celebration is today from 1PM-7:00 at the John S. Knight Center, in downtown Akron.

In partnership with the Akron Urban League, City officials put this event together over the past few days, after other Juneteenth events that had been scheduled for the weekend, were cancelled because of safety concerns related to the recent mass shooting which killed one man, and injured 28 others in East Akron.

Getting to and from the event will be easy and affordable, as Akron's Metro RTA is providing free transportation.
